Getting Started
Collaboration messaging tools such as Slack and Microsoft Teams bring people together and provide a forum to discuss, share information, make decisions; however it is typically left up to the individual teams to figure out how to conduct effective communication, which will vary and depend on their area of expertise.
Blameless CommsFlow(™) is helping organizations step up in defining and running effective and automated communication strategies and further improving the efficiency of their incident response processes.

Note: For example, reminders may be comprised of (but not limited to):
- Remind the active participants to complete their tasks
- Remind the communication leader to update external parties
- Remind the incident commander of the criticality of certain incidents
The default messaging solution is Email.
Note: Email addresses can match the email from any Blameless users present in the Identity Management database. If you want to target entities other than users, such user groups or teams, departments, you can capture them with their specific mailing address and name as a Blameless user in the Identity Management database (e.g. engineering team: eng@blameless.com). Arbitrary email addresses from other user database sources may be accepted as entries in the future.
As part of the flexibility, CommsFlow embraces Slack and Microsoft Teams apps and Short Message Service (SMS) to effectively run communication strategies that improves the efficiency of their incident response processes.
Note: Users can integrate with either Slack or Microsoft Teams, but not both at the same time currently.
SMS Integration Requirements include:
-
Slack or Microsoft Teams integration
-
User phone numbers from the Slack or Microsoft Teams user database
